Duffy called to tell me that Alcatrazz is working on new material according to That Metal Show. Great news for anybody who followed the Graham Bonnet-fronted band in the late ’80s. Bonnet, as you may recall, fronted Rainbow (“Since You Been Gone”) and MSG and an early version of Alcatrazz featured guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen. Ex-David Lee Roth/Whitesnake/Frank Zappa guitarist Steve Vai also was a member of Alcatrazz, replacing Malmsteen, and can be seen in this 1985 video for “God Blessed Video”.
