Bands from preview issue of SXSWorld magazine

Just got what’s touted as “The Official Magazine Of The South By Southwest Conferences & Festivals” Preview issue & there are ads, articles, and promos that mention a lot of bands. By no means a “list,” but there are a few I was unaware of.

Here’s a few of what I see mentioned in this magazine. Some of these may have already been listed here before, so forgive me if I’m repeating too much info for you.

Emily Haines | The Dears | Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter | Menomena | Aqueduct | The Long Winters | Pagoda | Tall Firs | Thurston Moore | Viva Voce | Nellie McKay | Mastodon | Bloc Party | Young Love | Rocky Votolato | Black Helicopter | Monotract | Sunburned | MV + EE | Magick Markers | Charlalambides | Wooden Wand | Razorlight | Ozomatli | Tiny Masters of Today | The Good, The Bad & The Queen | Amy Winehouse | The Automatic | Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) | The Hot Puppies | The Gentle Good | Future Of The Left | The Victorian English Gentleman’s Club | The Storys | The View | The Horrors | Plan B | Rumble Strips | Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly | Foals | iLiKETRAiNS | A Band Of Bees | Hadouken | The Sunshine Underground | KBC | Shit Disco | Popup | Hot Club De Paris | Good Shoes | Winterkids | You Am I | Hoodoo Gurus | Beasts of Bourbon | Paul Kelly | Disco Ensemble | KTU | Lodger | 22-Pistepirkko | Quetzal | Los Abandoned | Apostle of hustle | Amy Millan | Young Galaxy | Malajube | Les Breastfeeders | Le Nombre | AIDS Wolf | We Are Wolves | Les Georges Leningrad | The Besnard Lakes | Patrick Watson | High Dials | Land of Talk | Asono | Attack Formation | Gorch Fock | Dr. Dog | The Moog | Faceless Werewolves | Sasquatch

Hope that helps.

  1. yessss that list is awesome. super excited to see viva voce on there…

  2. Quite a few UK artists in that mix, from what I’ve seen so far they’re much better represented than in 2006.

  3. i don’t think Dr. Dog is going to be there. According to their tour dates, they’re going to be in the Northwest during the Southwest.

  4. it would be good if this was true- very excited to see Hadouken | The Sunshine Underground | KBC | Shit Disco | Good Shoes and Rumble Strips | Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. personally I want to o to sxsw to see bands too small to tour the us.
