SonicItchMusic.com is reporting that the Black Crowes are no longer going to be performing at Stubb’s during SXSW. I’m not sure where they got that information (there are no links to any “official” news) but the date doesn’t appear on the band’s MySpace page (though, to be fair, I’m not sure if it ever did).
From the Austin American Statesman newspaper:
According to the band’s spokesman at MSO PR, the Black Crowes have canceled their SXSW appearance.
“There has been a change of schedule and the group will not be performing there this year,” publicist Todd Brodginski said Friday. No further information was provided.
The band’s new album “Warpaint” arrives in stores March 4. It’s the group’s first for its boutique label Silver Arrow Records, which will be distributed through Megaforce/Sony Red BMG.

Heard that the great folks at SXSW pressured Esquire Magazine to fly full band and crew down to Austin. Esquire balked and now will not have traditional presence at Stubb’s on Saturday.
