SCHED.ORG Now Live for SXSW 2010 Schedule

Whether you’re attending film, music, interactive, or all three, using the SCHED tool to manage your schedule (and share it with others) is the way to roll. Taylor says new features are rolling out in addition to everything you’ve come to expect from the product.

The site is a little light on unofficial events right now, but the team is working on that. In the meantime, you can submit your unofficial events to help speed up the process.

SXSW 2010 Video Countdown: Broken Bells

YouTube Preview Image

So apparently James Mercer and Danger Mouse met each other few years ago while both playing the Roskilde Festival. (I’d like to imagine while watching Iggy and the Stooges.) Since then, they’ve been exchanging ideas, recording and Broken Bells was born from this amicable indie union. They’re a must see for me at SXSW this year, playing showcases for both NPR Music and Dickies Sounds. Their debut album will be released next Tuesday, March 9th, but you can listen to the album streaming in its entirety right now on NPR.

Third Man Records (Jack White) Pop Up Store at SXSW

Press release style:

Over the past year Third Man Records have brought their pop-up retail shops to New York, Los Angeles and London – completely transforming temporary spaces into seemingly permanent locations that are not so much about commerce as they are about a collision of artistic expression, design and a personal one-of-a-kind experience for customers.

Up next, Third Man Records is excited to announce their most ambitious temporary store yet, set to pop-up at the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas from March 17th through March 20th. Located at Frank Restaurant on 4th and Colorado, Third Man Records at SXSW will feature exclusive Third Man vinyl only available at TMR SXSW, debut releases, screenings of The White Stripes’ film Under Great White Northern Lights, food, drinks and much more.
