New Odd Future Mixtape “The OF Tape 2” Set For March 20th Release

Here is some early 2012 OFWGKTA News

-Odd Future Records announces March 20th as the release date for The OF Tape Vol. 2 LP featuring all new music from Tyler, the Creator, Hodgy Beats, Frank Ocean, Leftbrain, Domo Genesis, Mike G, Syd the Kyd and The Internet.

-The group will soon announce a 10 city national tour for the month of March that will include both a show and OF pop up retail store in each city. Each show will also open with an exclusive viewing of “Loiter Squad” prior to its March 25th Adult Swim premiere.

-Tyler, the Creator’s follow up to Goblin, Wolf, will drop later in the Spring and Mellowhype’s Numbers will drop this summer.

Adult Swim Picks up Odd Future Live-Action Series “Loiter Squad”

Adult Swim loooves Hip Hop it seems. Asheru, Danger Doom and Dilla come to mind as Hip Hop artists that have beemed into the 99.4 Million Homes that receive the Cartoon Network.

Adult Swim just picked up Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All’s new 15 minute live-action series Loiter Squad that features sketches, man on the street segments, pranks and music from the Los Angeles rap collective.

Tyler just got a VMA. And Frank Ocean was all over Watch the Throne and just produced Beyonce, so even if people hate OFWGKTA, it appears they aren’t going away anytime soon.

Loiter Squad is produced by Dickhouse Entertainment, a Hollywood production partnership of Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze and Jeff Tremaine.

Other Dickhouse Entertainment programs include Jackass, Nitro Circus, Rob & Big, Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Wild Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, The Birth of Big Air and Wildboyz.

Jeff Tremaine and Adult Swim’s Nick Weidenfeld will serve as executive producers.

The above video is an old documentary of Odd Future goof-balling in their hometown Ladera. It’s not a trailer for the Loiter Squad. And you prolly don’t want to watch it if you hate OF.

Odd Future’s MellowHype Sets July 12th Release on Fat Possum Records

Odd Future’s HodgyBeats & Left Brain aka MellowHype and Fat Possum Records are dropping the retail version of Blackenedwhite on July 12th.

The music that was originally released on OFWGKTA’s tumbler in late 2010 has been remastered, reworked. Songs have been added. Videos have been made. And look at the awesome cover.

MellowHype was on National television with Bass Drum of Death a few months ago.

And of course Hodgy is the kid on Sandwitches that says the evilest shit. Again look at that cover. Makes me want to get a fireplace and a red robe. I want a lady to crotchet that cover to hang over my fireplace and apply oils to my stomach. I might shave my head to look like Anton Levay or Boyd Rice.

I will prolly just cop it on wax and cross my legs while sipping tea in reality.

This will be the last Odd Future’s release on an imprint that isn’t Odd Future Records.
