Video: Blues Control – “Walking Robin”

Here’s another one from Blues Control off the Drag City release Valley Tangents. According to The Quietus, director Clémence Hébert filmed this on the Danish island of Tunø in the Kattegat Sea. If you need a little nature in your life, or you’re in bonfire withdrawal but can’t get out of the office, this is a good substitute. And a good soundtrack.

Catch Blues Control Saturday at Ace of Cups with Pink Reason and Day Creeper.

Columbus recently welcomed Kevin DeBroux back to town, which means his band Pink Reason is back, too, rejoined with Psychedelic Horseshit’s Matt Whitehurst and Rich Johnston, plus ex-TV Ghost bassist Shawn Beckering.

Here’s a video that was just uploaded of DeBroux’s band performing one of his best songs — “Dead End,” off Pink Reason’s Cleaning the Mirror Siltbreeze release — at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit last September.

You can catch Pink Reason in Columbus at Ace of Cups on July 28 with Blues Control and Day Creeper.

Tonight In Columbus: Jason Locke Benefit

I’ll let Columbus Discount Records’ Bo Davis tell it:

This is a benefit for the family of the lead singer/ songwriter/ bassist of the old Waverly, Ohio band, The Convalescents (with Bo Davis, Kris Moss and Jarrod Rodriquez). Jason Locke died tragically and unexpectedly this past May. He was only 30 years old and leaves behind a wife and four young children. ALL money made at this show (door and merch) will go directly to the family.

$5 at the door.

Tonight in Columbus: Pink Reason at Carabar

Sixteen Years by pinkreason

Details for this show were sketchy, but it’s all firmed up. Wisconsin native and Columbus ex-pat Kevin Debroux of Pink Reason tonight at Carabar (members of Psychedelic Horseshit and TV Ghost as his backing band) playing songs from Pink Reason’s new LP (cover above) and the Desperate Living EP.
