WOXY Died Again at 10AM EST, March 23 2010

At 10AM today the streams at WOXY went silent for a third time in the radio station’s career. Future Sounds, the company that bought WOXY from Lala.com, has run out of cash. Find all the details over at WOXY.

Please, someone with money buy WOXY. Shiv and Joe and others moved their families from Cincinnati to Austin and things were just starting to get going – just look at this past week of amazing SXSW coverage.

Goddamn it.

Someone better buy that company or at the very least all headhunters better pluck off every one of the amazing staff members at the station because they are all amazing at what they do.

Video: Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings Perform New Song @ WOXY

Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings stopped at WOXY during SXSW and recorded a video of “She Ain’t A Child No More,” one of the band’s new songs.

SXSW Updates: Alternative Press, WOXY, Other Music, Billions, Big Texas Jumpstart, More

UPDATE: Wristbands going onsale today for Austin locals.

If you’re going to SXSW and Showlist Austin isn’t on your daily list of sites to visit, you a punk. I mean it seems like so many sites (somes with real staffs and real budgets!) this year are copping Dan’s style it’s sort of embarrassing. Naughty, naughty websites.

ANYWAY.

Can’t remember Billions doing a free day show in recent years, but here you go:

We’ve got so many more shows after the jump, dudes. Continue reading

WOXY Leaving Cincinnati & Moving Operations to Austin, TX

WOXY is headed south. Come September 8th, WOXY will be broadcasting full-time from Austin, Texas. Our new digs in Austin will allow us to take things to the next level and bring you even more live Lounge Act sessions. You’ll not only get to hear the sessions, but you’ll be able to see them as well. We’ll have our own sound stage that will allow us to shoot video of all of our Lounge Acts and bring them to you in HD video.

As hard as it is for us to leave Cincinnati, we’re all pretty excited about what is to come, and we hope you are too. See ya in Texas, y’all!

Full details and discussion here.

Listen: The Walkmen on WOXY

The Walkmen

I’m really enjoying this WOXY Live Session with The Walkmen. A little stripped down because of some broken gear, but it sounds great. Sometimes I forget how much I love The Walkmen. It’s those times in my life where I am a dick. Download it here.

WOXY on iPhone + Holiday Radio Stream is Back

Joe tipped me off to a really easy way to get WOXY streaming on your iPhone. The first thing you need to do is download the free Fstream application in the App store. Once that’s downloaded, you can search their radio listings for WOXY. To get the holiday stream to work, just cut/paste the URL (http://woxy.lala.com/stream/holiday-mpg64.pls) in directly… You can also cut/paste the WOXY stream URL in directly too… This will make sense when you’re looking at the application.

If you want to just listen to the WOXY Holiday station on your computer, click here. It’s by far the greatest online radio stream for holiday music.

WOXY Holiday Music Stream Live

I am a Christmas music addict, so I am happy to find out that WOXY’s stream of holiday music is back up and running.

Radiohead Signs to Dave Matthews Label

ATO Records, the label started by Dave Matthews, has apparantly signed Radiohead for North American release. Shiv from WOXY got an email from the label about using songs on the station, and there’s a lot of articles popping up in the news.
