I am kinda bummed that Balam Acab isn’t hitting Columbus again. But anyhoo…2011’s Wander/Wonder on Tri Angle Records was a wonderful watery electronic record with abstracted r+b moments.

Tonight in Columbus: KVLT Presents Balam Acab

MP3: Balam Acab- Oh, Why

Balam Acab
is a 20 year-old electronic producer from PA. His latest album Wander/Wonder on Tri-Angle Records is probably my favorite electronic record this year. Granted I am not an expert in electronic music or witches, I can say that if “Wander/Wonder” is under the witchouse umbrella, then it would be a really nice, mellow witch that gives you weed cookies and can invent jacuzzis out of creeks. And not because eventually the witch is gonna feed you to a cauldron of boiling water. The witch is just chillin’ and spreading the good feelings to enhance her environment.
Balam isn’t a women or a witch. He is a 20 year-old electronic producer from PA on Tri-Angle Records that is performing at Scott Niemet’s KVLT Party at the Summit this evening.
Dirty Current is also on the bill.

MP3: Twin Sister – Kimmi in a Rice Field (Balam Acab Remix)

Twin Sister’s Kimmi In A Rice Field gets remixed by Balam Acab. The already hauntingly beautiful song gets an earthy electronic treatment by Acab.

Balam Acab will play Columbus at Scott Niemet’s KVLT Party this Saturday at the Summit, November 12th.

Twin Sister will be headlining their first North American Tour in January and February 2012 in support of their album In Heaven which is in stores now on Domino Records.
Tourdates and the video for the original version of  “Kimmi In A Rice Field” after the jump.
