Found this on Ticketmaster.com this morning.
Does this mean Comfest is moving to the Alrosa Villa? Does this mean the theme this year is centered around Juggalos?
Nah.

He won’t stop calling and I’m not sure how to blow him off
He stands outside my window until I have to call the cops
But they always let him out of jail cuz he’s a famous face
That’s a funny way of asking me to go out on a date…Steve Earle, won’t stop calling me
Lydia Loveless’s Comfest set was one of my favorites, and new song “Steve Earle” was a set highlight. It’ll be on her new album, Indestructible Machine, out in September on Bloodshot.

The Lost Revival‘s new video for “Cotton and Lace” was shot, edited and directed by Monolithic Cloud Parade‘s Corey Fry, and “filmed over the course of two separate very sweaty evenings in Columbus, Ohio with a Canon T2i.” Kevin Collins and crew will be at Comfest’s Offramp stage at 6:30pm Saturday.

Comfest has posted the 2011 Music Schedule using a difficult to read PDF tool.
I was surprised that they didn’t put Phantods on the Main Stage. Also surprised there was so many bands I don’t know.
AND JUST IN TIME FOR COMFEST: We’ve brought back the Donewaiting Friendship Farm Message Board. Don’t call it a comeback. Unless you want to.
Currently the official website is broken but discussion continues on in our joyous message board.
I’m not there this year so I am following along on Flickr and Twitter.

Bicentennial Bear features Billy Peake, Scott Haynes and Sean Sefcik from Miranda Sound (RIP), my favorite band from Columbus, along with Adam Dowell (Celebrity Pilots) and Leah Wahlin. They’re currently working on their debut album to be released at some point this year. Wet your whistle by downloading these two recent recordings:
MP3: Cardinal Codes
MP3: Year of Our Ladybirds
You can catch them perform at the Offramp Stage Sunday during Comfest @ 1:30pm.
Thanks to Davey Highben and his treasure trove known as the Never Ending Compilation for pointing me to this video of the Gibson Bros playing “Big Pine Boogie” at Comfest in 1987. Apparently it’s from one of the band’s self-released tapes called “Has anybody got an assburn?”
The Gibson Bros will reunite at the CMC’s Parking Lot Blowout in Columbus on July 10. New poster after the jump. Continue reading
