Saturday in Columbus:Copywrite Instore Performance at Magnolia Thunderpussy 12/4

Columbus emcee Copywrite will be doing a free Gallery Hop performance at Magnolia Thunderpussy Saturday.
This performance is to promote his new album the Life and Times of Peter Nelson, which is in stores now.
The album is critically acclaimed nationally, recieving a XL Rating in XXL Magazine and a 4/5 rating in Urb Magazone.
The album guests Dilated Peoples. Sean Price, MF Grimm, Motion Man, and has production by RJD2 among others.
It is a good look for Columbus.
So come out before the Rock Potluck at Skullys, or just come out in general to check out Copy, and cop his new album

Copywrite & DJ Drastic will be performing at 7 pm, Saturday 12/4.
Magnolia Thunderpussy is located at 1155 N. High Street in the Short North.
Admission is free.

Columbus Hip Hop History:Groove Shack Documentary

Groove Shack was a record store here in the Short North from 1994-97. Pretty much everyone like MHZ(Copy, Camu, RJD2, Tage, Jakki), JRawls, the 3rd, Illogic put in time there.
Groove Shack is where Columbus scene that eventually got noticed internationally with the help of indie labels like Def Jux, Rhymesayers, Fondle Em, Groove Attack, Rawkus and Eastern Conference was built upon.
The owners made a documentary about the spot.
This documentary is being screened this week.
Thursday, November 18th at the Gateway Theater 1550 North High Street Columbus, OH 43201
The showing is from 730-930.
to be exact.

I saw the screening at Madlab, and the footage is priceless. Just watch the trailers..
The movie has a couple flaws, but it is not to be missed.

Columbus rapper Copywrite got a pretty good review in XXL Magazine for his upcoming album, the Life and Times of Pete Nelson.

Peep Copywrite’s newest installment of his freestyle series on Hip HopDx.
It is produced by Path of All Eyes Path, and starts off with a sample from Obama’s recent speech at OSU.

Copywrite teams up with Slaugherhouse’s Crooked I. Columbus rapping fucking with the rapper Suge Knight cosigned after Pac passed? Yessir

Copywrite Wins Album of the Year @ 2010 Ohio Hip Hop Awards

I really don’t know what to make of the Ohio Hip Hop Awards.
But they happened this weekend in the Cleveland, and I guess it is of note that Columbus emcee, Copywrite won Ohio Hip Hop Album of the Year for his ep, The Rebirth .
Skullys Music Diner won the Ohio Hip Hop Award for Best Live Venue.
