Fela Kuti’s son Seun Kuti will lead his pops former Afrobeat Orchestra Egypt 80 across America, once again. Seun adds some contemporary influences to his dad’s sauce.
Brian Eno hailed Seun and Egypt 80 for “making some of the biggest, wildest, livest music on the planet.” Because of their range and appeal Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 are playing all types of events and venues: SXSW, Coachella, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest, Houstin I-Fest, International Festival of Louisiana, Lake Eden Arts Festival and many more.

Footnote to Donewaiting’s 9th Anniversary: P.Blackk & DJ Bruni (above) almost had to cancel their performance because someone ran a stop sign when Blackk was headed back the venue. Zero Star (below) performed with a 102 degree fever and a tension headache. One person on twitter described the evening like this “@wesflexner if @Zerostar82 was Jordan with the flu, last night was @PBlackk‘s Willis Reed moment @aceofcupsbar”
