MP3:Fabrashay A Ft Zerostar and Le For the Uncool-My City (produced by Path)
In the greatest team-up since KMD’s and Brand Nubian’s “Nitty Gritty” Milk N Syrup, and Weightless are on the same track. Okay is nothing like that song but it is still nice to think about.
The song is produced by Path from All Eyes Path. It starts off unassuming and sparse and develops into something special. The email I got for this song said it was “untitled” so it may not be called “My City”.
Regardless, the song is off of “the Art Show” Fabrashay’s upcoming album. It’s dope and if you don’t download then hopefully you don’t listen to rap and are just waiting for more pictures of bearded men playing ukelalees.
Sidenote:Besides catching Zerostar at “get right, getting right” you can also catch him hosting “Grindtime 2 I Still Get it in Ohio” it is an emcee battle October 16th at Skullys.

I really don’t know what to make of the Ohio Hip Hop Awards.
But they happened this weekend in the Cleveland, and I guess it is of note that Columbus emcee, Copywrite won Ohio Hip Hop Album of the Year for his ep, The Rebirth .
Skullys Music Diner won the Ohio Hip Hop Award for Best Live Venue.

Blueprint’s latest EP has him sampling the Who EP. So you Rock N Rollerz might light this one. The bulk of the content is Print discussing how he worked hard to get where he is at when other people had different ideas. Donewaiting readers might take note of track 3, “See Thru”, Print’s lo-fi song, where he shouts out DJ Przm, TNV and PHS. Illogic is on Track 5, “Pain” in which Print revisits the Teenage Wasteland sample he used on Illogic’s “1000 Whispers” and then Best Buy told him he wasn’t allowed to when Weightless reissued Celestial Clockwork through Raptivism.

If y’all remember Greenhouse vs. Radiohead, Blueprint vs. Funkadelic or how Print flipped the Who on Illogic’s “1,000 Whispers then you will be pretty stoked on Blueprint’s first video for his new EP Blueprint Who.
The video had Print and and his dj Rare Groove playing the role of rivals that keep bumping into each other at the local record stores, Used Kids, Magnolia and Lost Weekend.
It’s funny and silly.

Le for the Uncool drops the Measure tomorrow. I dig the above video “First of All”. It has LE going out to Fifth and Cassady to make a pick-up then makes a drop at Sole Classic. Crips, Islam, Harlem Renaissance and Cornel West…fuck with it.
Here is an artist profile on LE. I think Homage’s NBA Jam video game machine in the background is a good touch.

This song “I’m me” by Columbus rapper Trav Dave is produced by J-Rawls. It will give you that classic I-N-I Pete Rock era-feel. The MP3 didnt come with a picture so a google effort came up with Trav kicking it with the Blue Man group. I hear they put on a good show.
